Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 12 March 2026

These Terms govern your use of the StreetSole app. By downloading or using StreetSole, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. About StreetSole

StreetSole is a mobile application that uses GPS technology to track and visualise the streets a user walks. Users build a personalised city exploration map, earn achievements, and can optionally share their progress with friends.

StreetSole is currently provided as a free service. We reserve the right to introduce optional paid features in the future, which will always be clearly disclosed in advance.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use StreetSole (or 16 in EU member states where applicable). If you are under 18, please review these Terms with a parent or guardian.

By using the app, you confirm that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms and are not prohibited from using the app under the laws of your country.

3. Your Account

3.1 Creating an account

StreetSole uses Sign in with Apple and Sign in with Google for authentication. We do not offer username/password accounts. By signing in, you authorise StreetSole to receive and store basic profile information as described in our Privacy Policy.

3.2 Account security

You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure. Notify us immediately at legal@streetsole.app if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.

3.3 One account per person

Accounts are personal and non-transferable. You may not create multiple accounts to gain unfair advantages on leaderboards or achievement tracking.

3.4 Termination

You may delete your account at any time from within the app. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with or without prior notice.

4. Location Permissions

StreetSole requires access to your device location to provide its core functionality. The app requests "Always Allow" location access to enable background street tracking while your phone is in your pocket.

You can modify or revoke location permissions at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy > Location Services > StreetSole. Revoking location access will prevent the app from tracking walks.

We process location data as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not sell or share location data with advertisers or data brokers.

5. Acceptable Use

StreetSole allows you to set a username and display name. By providing any content, you confirm it does not infringe any third-party rights, contain offensive or illegal material, or violate anyone's privacy.

We reserve the right to remove or modify any content that violates these Terms, without prior notice.

7. Intellectual Property

The StreetSole name, logo, app design, and all original content within the app are owned by or licensed to StreetSole. You may not copy, reproduce, or create derivative works from our intellectual property without express written consent.

7.2 Third-party map data

Street map data is provided by OpenStreetMap contributors under the Open Database Licence (ODbL). Map tiles may be provided by third-party services. Use of this data is subject to their respective terms.

7.3 Your content

You retain ownership of content you create (e.g. your username). By using social features, you grant StreetSole a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display your username and walk statistics to friends you have connected with.

9. Availability and Changes

We aim to provide StreetSole on a continuous basis but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature of the app, and to perform maintenance that may temporarily affect availability.

Where we make material changes that affect your use of the app, we will provide reasonable notice through the app.

10. Disclaimers

StreetSole is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranty, to the maximum extent permitted by law. GPS tracking accuracy can be affected by building density, weather, device hardware, and other environmental factors. Street attribution may not always be perfectly precise.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under UK or EU consumer protection law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraudulent misrepresentation.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, StreetSole's total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the greater of: (a) the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) Β£50.

We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of data or loss of profits.

14. Changes to These Terms

When we make material changes, we will notify you through the app at least 14 days before changes take effect. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, you should stop using the app and delete your account before the changes take effect.

15. Contact Us

We aim to respond to all enquiries within 5 working days.
